Reflection on Smart Board
Achievements in technology were in well development. The development of information technology is alignment with education section. I was introduced with a new tool aid in education known as smart board. My early prediction on this ‘whiteboard’ is very interesting and can replace with the old one of the previous traditional whiteboard that commonly used at schools now. Smart board is an interactive, electronic whiteboard which can enhance instruction and learning. The smart board notebook software makes it possible for teachers to create content rich, dynamic lesson which address specific student skills. I think its really interesting way of learning and teaching process. This week, we learn how to use it and how to apply in the teaching and learning processes.
The board is typically mounted to a wall or on a floor stand. Some uses for interactive whiteboards include operating any software that is loaded onto the connected PC, including web browsers and proprietary software, using software to capture notes written on a whiteboard or whiteboard-like surface Controlling the PC (click and drag), markup (annotating a program or presentation) and translating cursive writing to text (not all whiteboards), in some instances the Interactive Whiteboard may be provided with an integrated Audience Response System so presenters can carry out polls and quizzes and capture the feedback on the Interactive Whiteboard .
Before starting my project, I was very excited to start learning about Smart Board because I feel they are becoming quite prevalent in today's schools. Since I have never truly worked with one, I was not quite sure all of the neat features it possessed. I know now that Smart board is an extremely helpful tool that I believe will help me out greatly in the future. Having the opportunity to work with a Smart board before having to teach with one I believe gives me an advantage as a future teacher because I will be able to start my teaching experience with lessons using technology. Learning the abundance of features was a great eye opener for what Smart board is truly capable of. During this smart board project I learned a lot about how to incorporate different technologies into the classroom. I found when creating my own smart board lesson that I was able to construct games and activities that young students would have fun learning with. Working on this project I noticed how to make the different smart board pages appealing to students at the pre university level. After seeing a few other classmates’ smart board projects, I feel that this type of technology can be useful to teach almost every subject. The smart board gets students actively involved in the learning process which can help them to enjoy the process; increasing their desire to learn.
Thanks a lot to Dr Saadiah for their kindness to help us using this technology. In my opinion, teachers nowadays need to be more creativity to educate their learner to meet the needs of rapid changing working environment and society.For smart board lesson given by Dr Saadiah, I did it with my friends. So, here are our finished smart board lesson. Hope that students and everyone will enjoy themselves for a new era of technologies in education.
